My name is Julia Berends, and I am a PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Erik Frijlink and Dr. Floris Grasmeijer. Before starting my PhD, I obtained a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences (2016), a bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (2018), and a master’s degree in Pharmacy (2021). I began my PhD in November 2021, focusing on (high-dose) dry powder for inhalation. My current research projects include 1) in vitro – in vivo correlations, 2) physiologically based pharmacokinetic modeling, and 3) development of new formulations. Since January 2023, I have also been a committee member of the New Researcher Network of the Drug Delivery to the Lungs Conference, working to build a community of early-career scientists/PhD students in the field.
