About Lucas
I am a PhD student investigating the biological mechanisms underlying ageing. My research focuses on the role of taurine in ageing and age-related diseases, particularly its impact on immune cell function and metabolism. My project aims to uncover how changes in taurine regulation, studied using both cell- and animal-based models of immune system ageing alongside gene editing approaches, influence cellular health and contribute to healthy ageing.
