Dr. Marina Trombetta Lima recently took part in an official delegation representing University of Groningen during a strategic academic visit to Brazil. The mission aimed to strengthen institutional partnerships, foster research collaborations, and expand opportunities for academic exchange between Brazilian institutions and our University .
During the visit, the delegation met with representatives from leading Brazilian institutions, including University of São Paulo, Federal University of São Paulo, and Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS). Discussions focused on joint research initiatives, mobility programs for students and faculty, and opportunities for collaborative grant applications.
The delegation also visited São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP), one of Brazil’s main research funding agencies. Meetings centered on funding mechanisms that support international collaboration and on identifying strategic areas of shared scientific interest.
This visit underscores RUG’s commitment to international engagement and the expansion of global research networks. Follow-up initiatives and joint activities are currently being explored to build on the momentum generated during the delegation.
